The "Golden Garden" cushion cover draws from the great tradition of chinoiserie — exotic birds perched among flowering branches, peonies in full bloom, all rendered in gold, sage and amber on a soft ivory velvet ground. A golden border with braided trim frames each design; the reverse is a warm caramel velvet, plain and grounding.
Three designs, each a world of its own: Jade Peony, with its symmetrical arrangement of green peonies and classical border; Golden Garden, the most exuberant, with birds in flight among cascading blooms; and Moon Blossom, a single circular composition — one branch, one bird, one moment of stillness.
